Message from the President
PSNBA is always
on the lookout as to how we can be more effective in promoting the
general economic welfare of shipyard workers, sailors, and community members in
the Puget Sound.
On Wednesday, May 26, PSNBA leadership joined Admiral Frank
Caldwell for a day long tour of several commands within Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor. The group
started with a brief from the Admiral at 8am and continued through site visits
at Trident Training Facility, Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Submarine Development Squadron Five, Coast Guard operations, and a submarine tour of the USS Nebraska. A debrief with Captain Olson closed out the tour at 6pm. (CLICK HERE to read the complete story about this fun and informative tour,)
We are grateful to Admiral Caldwell for making these arrangements
and joining us throughout the day to help 'connect the dots' as we moved
between commands and put the pieces together. Building
relationships with our local navy community is a critical piece of PSNBA's work, so we appreciated the opportunity to learn more about
Bangor and its operations through the eyes of its commands.
We continue to be very
proud of our Navy and have an increased respect for the work that is done on
land and sea to support its mission. I am also honored to represent
PSNBA, and its mission to support the Navy.
